Caroline Chisholm Centre

Community

A unique centre for the St Vincents de Paul Society. Buildings are clustered around a series of central communal open spaces creating a sense of community & providing a place of refuge for those requiring the services this centre provides.

Exposed timber roof structures & off form concrete columns provide cathedral like common areas with smaller more intimate rooms for Counselling & welfare services. Large solid timber sliding doors provide flexible spaces.

A sustainable facility was achieved through innovative heating & cooling systems such as hydronic floor heating & earth pipe cooling & onsite retention of stormwater. Extensive use of recycled bricks throughout add to the environmental credentials of this facility.
