Our Story

A Proud History

ACH Clifford takes its name from founder, Albert Charles Henry Clifford, who with his wife, Mavis started the business in 1967.

From these humble beginnings as a small construction business, mainly working locally on commercial projects ACH has flourished into the well-respected construction company of choice working with government agencies, award winning architects and institutional clients.

The current owner, Peter Comino, joined the business in 1988, signalling a change of direction, a more professional approach, and a period of growth that sees the company where it is today.

Our first major government contract was the cyclic maintenance of 100 schools. The demonstrated capabilities and success of this led to our first major capital works contract with government at Werrington Public School.

From this, we gained prequalification with NSW Government, and soon branched out regionally, with landmark projects such as new schools at Vincentia High School and Tumbi Umbi High School. In 1998, ACH was included on the coveted NSW Best Practice Contractor list.

While Peter is still involved to provide a guiding hand, today the business is being run by his daughter Marina, and Dean Quine, the Construction Manager who has been with the company for close to 30 years. Collectively, they bring close to 100 years of knowledge and experience to the company, and every project benefits from their very hands-on approach.
